These pictures show the places we visit on the trips we run: the red earth villages above the river, the terraces and walnut trees, the falls in the gorge above Setti Fatma, the stone mills of the argan cooperatives, the potters at their wheels and the tables set in the river at lunchtime.
Light changes a lot through the year. Spring is the greenest time, summer brings people to the river, and autumn gives warm colours on the slopes. If you want to see these places yourself, our day trip covers most of them, and our list of things to do helps you choose the rest.
When you visit, remember that the valley is home to real families: ask before photographing people, and they will often say yes.
