Ourika Valley
We collect only the personal data we need to organise your trip, we never sell it, and payments are handled by PayPal, so we never see your card number. This page explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.
This policy applies to ourika-valley.com and to the requests and bookings you send us by the website, email or WhatsApp. "We" means the local team that runs Ourika Valley tours and transport from Marrakech.
What data we collect
When you book or send a request, we collect:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number and/or WhatsApp number;
- your pickup address (hotel or riad in Marrakech);
- the dates of your trip and the size of your group, including the number and ages of children;
- the content of your message, including any information you choose to give us, such as dietary needs or walking ability.
When you pay online, PayPal sends us a confirmation of the payment (name, email, amount, transaction reference). We do not receive or store your card number.
Why we use it
We use your data only to:
- answer your questions and send you quotes;
- confirm, organise and carry out your booking (vehicle, driver, guide, pickup point);
- contact you before and on the day of the trip, for example about the meeting point or a change due to weather;
- handle cancellations, refunds and complaints;
- keep the records required by accounting and tax rules.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not send newsletters unless you ask for them.
Who can see it
Your data is shared only with the people and services that need it to deliver your trip:
- the driver and guide assigned to your trip (your name, phone number, pickup point and group size);
- PayPal, which processes online payments as an independent provider under its own privacy policy;
- our email and messaging providers (for example WhatsApp), which carry our messages.
Some of these providers may store data outside Morocco. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep booking data for as long as needed to organise your trip and handle any follow-up, and then for the period required by Moroccan accounting and tax rules for invoices and payment records. Requests that do not lead to a booking are deleted when they are no longer useful to answer you. You can ask us to delete your data earlier, within the limits of our legal obligations.
Your rights
Under Moroccan law 09-08 of 18 February 2009 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected, and to object to its processing for legitimate reasons. You can also ask us to delete data we no longer need. Depending on where you live, you may have similar rights under your own country's law.
To exercise these rights, write to booking@ourika-valley.com. We answer as soon as possible and may ask you to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Moroccan data protection authority, the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel).
Cookies
Our website uses only technical cookies and similar storage needed for it to work, for example to remember your language or to complete a booking and a PayPal payment. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your browsing data. Payment pages provided by PayPal may set their own cookies, as described in PayPal's policy.
Security
We limit access to your data to the people who need it for your trip, and we use password-protected accounts for email and bookings. Payment data stays with PayPal.
Changes
